Winter relief for street dogs in need

Background

The Dog Rose is Romania's first animal shelter, education centre and therapy centre rolled into one. Since 2018 we have provided a home to over 180 dogs in an environment unlike anywhere else in Romania – on 2 hectares of land where the dogs have enough room to run around and socialise. Interaction with children and people and exceptional veterinary care. Our long-term focus is on education and recovery. The association behind The Dog Rose since 2011 has been the charitable organisation Citydogs4Streetdogs, which is led by an outstanding team of amazing volunteers.

Idea

We are in urgent need of your support for our pioneering home for rescued street dogs in Romania, The Dog Rose: During the ice-cold winter months in Romania, many puppies are abandoned on the streets, left to fend for themselves. We rescue these poor dogs from the streets, feed them, give them the necessary vaccinations, take care of them and give them plenty of love, warmth and comfort.

Feed costs - during the harsh winter months, our little ones need more food to keep themselves warm

Medical care - many rescued puppies are undernourished, sick and weak

Personnel costs - loving care provides the basis for later adoption

Neutering scheme – dogs from the neighbouring area are brought to our clinic on an ongoing basis for neutering. If a dog is neutered, this prevents on average 12 new puppies a year

Implementation

We need CHF 1,000 for medical costs, neutering scheme, food costs, personnel costs
Thanks to your donation and generosity, we can rescue dogs from the streets and play a proactive role in stopping rising puppy numbers.

Noëlle Fueter-Stahel gave up her successful career in the financial industry to devote her life to her love of dogs. Together with Tobias Fueter - filmmaker and grandson of Anne-Marie Blanc - Anja Mecklenburgh, Caroline Meyer, honorary members in Switzerland and professional vets in Romania, her charitable association, Citydogs4Streetdogs, has rescued hundreds of stray dogs since 2011.
The Swiss team works with no overheads: 100% of donations go to the benefit of animals and children in Romania. Prominent supporters for several years now include Melanie Winiger, Chris von Rohr, Nik Hartmann, Donna Leon, Bianca Gubser, Luca Hänni, Reto Hanselmann, Zoë Pastelle, tibits restaurant and many more.
