Project SummaryIn order for the once efficient sailor from Morocco to recover, he needs a drug that cures his pulmonary fibrosis. However, this drug is only available in Europe. Support him now with a donation of CHF 100 so that he can get well again.
Background
Boufaqous Abderrahmane was once a strong sailor from Morocco. He worked for years in the Royal Navy and was on a ship for most of the year. Boufaqous was always very positive, he was a good person with a peaceful soul. He spent his free time with his wife and their two children. He also did regular sports to stay fit for his work.
However, he became ill. Breathing problems made the smile on his lips fade and his body tired at the slightest exertion. The diagnosis: pulmonary fibrosis.
Abderrahmane has had to live with this for a while now, and without the right medication, the consequences will be devastating. However, he has no health insurance that could cover the cost of drug treatment.

Idea
Abderrahmane is my cousin and I would like to help him get well again. I live in Switzerland and have better possibilities to support him. Last week we were already able to get an oxygen machine, which will allow him to be more active again and spend more time with his family.
For the long term cure, his doctor has prescribed him an expensive drug: OFEV 150MG, one pack costs CHF 2929 for one month. At his stage, Abderrahmane needs medication for three months. In total, that makes a hefty sum of CHF 8,787. In addition to the cost factor, availability is another major hurdle: The drug is not available in Morocco. However, it can be purchased in Europe.
In order to improve Abderrahmane's condition, we would like to buy the medication in Europe.

I will order the medicine online and send it to Morocco immediately. There Abderrahmane can take his medicine according to his doctor and recover. The medicine and the oxygen machine will give him a chance to regain his strength and get better.
My cousin is really a great person and absolutely does not deserve to suffer like this. That's why I'm counting on all of them. Every donation counts, big or small. Together we can save my cousin's life. Without our help, he is on his own.

This project draws attention to two things: 1. even healthy and fit people are not protected from terrible diseases. 2. the non-existence of the medicine in the target country shows in what different stages of development we are. With the support we can draw attention to this unjust problem, because every person should have easy access to the medicine they need. And last but not least: A father's state of health can be improved and, at the same time, his quality of life.
