A listening treasure is as individual as a human life is. Each participant decides for him- or herself which chapters of life are to be opened. There are no limits to the joy of storytelling, imagination and love. Divided into individual chapters, one's own life in retrospect becomes a cornucopia of experiences. An audio treasure offers space for anecdotes, experiences, songs, favourite recipes, milestones, insights and perspectives.
When we visit Remo at his home in March 2021 shortly after a hospital stay, he blossoms in his stories and memories. Many beautiful Swiss songs flow into his listening treasure. Out of this comes a wonderful legacy to his two children. "Especially in my case, where the children are still so small, this is mega beautiful and important. I hope this listening treasure will help my children with the grieving process and remembering."
By sharing his story and excerpts from his listening treasure publicly, Remo wants to help other families in a similar situation benefit from the listening treasure offer. "I want to give something minimal back - as a thank you for this great gift."
People who want to tell their story and have it recorded are accompanied by experienced journalists with palliative background knowledge. These audiobiographers are commissioned by the Hörschatz Association with the implementation of the Hörschatz audiobiography. Depending on the length of the recording, the production of an audio treasure amounts to CHF 1,200 to CHF 9,600 (from 1h to around 15h audio treasure duration). The length of the recordings depends on the needs and strengths of the participants. The participants meet for a maximum of 3 days for the recordings. Afterwards, post-production and editing takes place to create an audio treasure with music of the participants' choice. The audiobiographers are compensated for their work by Verein Hörschatz.
